Spring 2006 Alumni Notes

  • Rob Banaszak (Communications Director, National Office 2001-2003) recently returned to Washington DC and in February began serving as Communications Director of the American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM). Rob oversees the organization's internal and external communications activities
  • Gini Christman (NSP-Richmond National Direct and National Direct Leader 2002-2004) is studying to receive her Masters of Divinity (MDiv) at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA
  • Khyati Desai (National Direct Leader 2004-2005) is pursuing her Masters in Non-Profit Administration at George Mason University. In addition, she is the Community Resources Manager for Doorways for Women and Families, a homeless and domestic violence shelter. Khyati is responsible for managing in-kind donations and the volunteer program
  • Lisa Fishlin (NSP-Somerville National Direct 2004-2005) is a Playspace Programs Manager for Horizons for Homeless Children. She coordinates volunteers who work with children in 25 Boston-area family shelters
  • Tyrone Hanley (NSP-Richmond Volunteer, 2003-2004; NSP-Chicago Summer Director 2004) lives and works in Washington, DC. He is the Youth Program Coordinator for the Gender Public Advocacy Coalition. In addition, he serves as the President of Youth Pride Alliance and volunteers for DC OUTfront, Helping Individual Prostitutes Survive (HIPS), and Children's National's Outreach Program for Children with Gender-Variant Behaviors and their Families
  • Genevieve Munoz (NSP-New Haven National Direct 2004-2005) lives in New Haven and assists individuals with mental illnesses in the Extended Living Program of Continuum of Care. As a Case Manager, she provides daily living support to the residents, as well as fostering long-term goals like education, employment, and independent living
  • Raj Nath (NSP-Pittsburgh Local Director, 1999-2000), a Manager with Accenture, is leading a team of consultants on a post-merger integration project for Absa, a South African bank recently acquired by Barclays PLC. He is leading an international team of consultants and clients in South Africa working on the logistics and procurement integration with the parent company. Prior to this engagement, Raj was in Dublin and London, working for the Bank of Ireland
  • Adrienne Piazza (NSP-DC Local Director, 2001-2002; Student Representative to the Board of Directors, 2003-2004) is continuing her education at George Washington University's Graduate School of Education and Human Development by studying Education Policy. She also works at GWU's Office of Community Service as an Associate Site Manager for Jumpstart
  • Tommy Saunders (NSP-Cambridge Site Coordinator, 2002-2003) lives in Korea and teaches reading and debate. While abroad, he is writing a test-prep book for one of Korea's nationwide tests of English as a foreign language. Tommy will return in the fall with intentions to study public international law
  • Jen Wilson (National Office Intern, 2003; NSP-DC Local Director 2003-2004; NSP-DC Summer Director, 2003; NSP-Baltimore Summer Director, 2004; NSP-Richmond Volunteer, 2005) continues to serve the DC community as the National Volunteer Recruiter for the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network (RAINN). This non-profit organization runs the National Sexual Assault Hotline and this spring Jen is helping to launch the first-ever Online Sexual Assault Hotline.
