Office Snapshot

Founding
NSP-Baltimore was founded in 2003 by Summer Directors Niki Irish, Jamie Stewart, Mike Mondo and Judy Berman. This dedicated student team was soon joined by Americorps*National Direct Site Coordinator Svea Stromme and student Local Directors Anna Russell and Elizabeth Krimmel, who propelled the site to become one of the busiest NSP offices in the country, while still being one of its youngest.

Volunteers
Volunteers are recruited from all local universities in the Baltimore area including Johns Hopkins University, Goucher College, Morgan State, and Community College of Baltimore County. Currently, the office is comprised of students who volunteer for a minimum of four hours per week.

Partners
NSP-Baltimore has established numerous community partnerships, which continually aid its success and growth. Examples include the Center for Social Concern at Johns Hopkins University, Commission on Aging and Retirement Education, Office of Home Energy Programs, Greater Homewood Community Corporation, and St. Ambrose Housing Aid Center and Community Mediation Program.
